2025 Big Boards Away Match: St George wins 23-17
In this, the first leg of a two-match (Away-Home) contest, the top forty players from St George played against 40 Norths Club players. The second (home) leg occurs in November, and will decide who holds the John Kellner/Terrey Shaw Memorial Trophy for the year. Boards 41-50 in the results above do not count to the trophy decider, but were ACF-rated games nevertheless. In all games, each player had 75 minutes for their moves, plus a 10s increment per move.

Round 1
Games: 313 scored games from Rounds 1-9 can be viewed here (updated: Tuesday May 27; if the page does not open, it means the Chessbase server is carrying out maintenance). The table is sorted alphabetically, using White’s name, but you can sort it according to any column heading – just click on the heading (e.g. click on the Event column to sort by Division). Once you have opened a game, the buttons provide many additional functions (e.g. engine analysis, flip board, download). Explore and enjoy.

Details
This was a nine-round round-robin tournament. Each player had 90 minutes for the game, and there was a 30 second increment added for each move from move 1. There were seven divisions of 10 players, each division had players of similar ACF rating. Divisions 1 to 6 were both ACF and FIDE-rated; Division 7 is ACF-rated only.
In the table above, the Pairings & Results link for each division shows your opponent for each round. If you cannot make any given night you must notify the Club Captain, Charles Zworestine no later than 24 hours before the scheduled start of the game (i.e. by 7:30 pm on Monday night): charlesz@ozemail.com.au 0410 563 965. Failure will do so will mean you lose the game, as will arriving later than 30 60 minutes after the scheduled start of the game. By Round 3 you will be given the contact details of all members of your division, and if you cannot make a game, you must also notify your opponent beforehand and arrange an alternative night.
There will be three catch-up nights during the tournament for missed games. Please see the club calendar for the dates of all rounds and catch-up nights.
2025 St George Club Allegro
This was a nine-round ACF-rated Rapid tournament, with 10 mins for each player and five seconds increment per move from move 1. Fifty-two players took part.
The winner was John-Stuart Plant (8/9); Mario Falchoni and Geoff Barker were equal second on 7 and Ted Power and Rick Louis both scored 6.5
2025 St George Club Lightning
This was a nine-round ACF-rated Blitz tournament, with 3 mins for each player and two seconds increment per move from move 1. Thirty-eight players took part.
The winner was John-Stuart Plant on 8.5/9, CM Daniel Melamed was second on 8, and Stevo Acevski came third with 6.5.
2025 St George Summer Open Lightning
This was 34-player 9 round ACF-rated Blitz tournament (3 mins per player + 2 s per move), won by new member Jeffrey Xu on 8.5/9, with second place going to John Stuart Plant on 7/9, and third place to Mario Falchoni on 6.5/9.
Under 1800 Division: 1st Jonas Sze-To 6/9; = 2nd Ashton Li, Faaiz Malik, Leo Xu 5.5/9.
Under 1550 Division: = 1st Maan Beydoun, Ethan Currie, John Parissis 4/9.
